Had the same problem both on local replica and on server. Opening in "Old time Notes client" didnt' work.
Here is what i did to fix the problem:
Select your mailbox in workpace, Hold Ctrl+Shif down, Choose View\Goto and select InBox in the view dialog. and voila you have the inbox.
